Good News: Our Special Editions Are Sticking Around Longer

We have some exciting news to share, and it's one we think a lot of you are going to love. We've heard from so many of you who found out about an edition just after it closed, or who needed a little more time than our preorder windows provided before ordering. We've been listening, and we're making a change to how our preorders work.

Most things will stay exactly the same. Every edition opens for preorder, and we wait three weeks before placing our print order.

The one thing that's changing is what happens after those three weeks. Before, the listing came down, and any extra copies were sold later in an overstock sale. Now that we have a couple of years of sales data behind us, we know how many copies to order, so the edition will simply stay on our website until it sells out with one exception which is if an author has an exclusivity period we need to honor. Once the exclusivity period is over, the edition will go back up until it sells out.

Rest assured, we'll always hold back enough stock to cover damages. Just like with Boys of Tommen, a few of those extra copies may trickle onto the website over time.

How do we know we've ordered enough? That's what the three-week window is for. It lets us see if a title is more popular than we expected, so we can order enough copies for everyone.

A couple of other things to know

All orders will now work the way our limited preorders always have, which means every order comes with a two-week cancellation period. If you change your mind within two weeks of placing your order, you can cancel by emailing us at info@imaginebooksshop.com.
